Amy's Bio

Born and raised in a suburb outside of Cleveland, Amy Kaufman set sail in search of grandeur immediately upon graduation from high school. Unfortunately, she was new to sailing, and ended up on the sandy sandy shores of Lake Michigan. So much for GPS. Deciding to make the most of the situation, she set-up shop, and started taking classes at Columbia College Chicago. Four years later, she was kicked to the curbside with nothing more than a B.A. in magazine journalism, a refined sense of sarcasm, and an inevitable cynicism, which she harvests in the fall for extra warmth in the harsh winter months.

Amy currently resides in Logan Square with her smashingly handsome fiancée, and her rambunctious, and amazingly human-like pooch, Charley. When she's not sitting on her butt watching crappy television (she loves Full House and other ABC Family programming), she's working as a marketing coordinator for YouSwoop, Chicago's newest daily dealmaker. This "9-5" consists of tweeting, meeting, reading, and all other things that rhyme. As a blogger for the ChiGuide, Amy plans to "rip this city a new one" by giving her two-cents on anything and everything Chicago has to offer. Unfortunately, because of the declining rate of the dollar, her two cents is currently worth one cent.
