How it Happened

Every girl grows up imaging a man getting down on one knee and saying those 4 little words, "Will you marry me?" Nobody could have imagined what the man I am going to marry did:

It started over 2 months ago on a day that I had ironically said felt like my wedding day. From the flowers sent with love from Maggie returning early from France, to Kirsten making me feel like a queen-- to the look on Montana's face when I came out in the dress. That magical night and that magical dress was enough to make Montana decide that this was it. So for the next several months he planned and plotted the perfect ring and the perfect day.

As anyone that knows us knows, the CTC  kids are the most important things in our life, they are our life. So what better way to ask me then with them. It was at Regatta, making the execution that much easier as there is always so much distraction taking place that one wouldn't notice the extra photographers or friends that had gathered. proposal3

After waking up early from a long night, I threw my hair in a ponytail and wiped off a bit of the make-up from the night before's event. While there, Montana casually asked me to look for one of the boys, Argel, that was getting ready to race down and help him get out of the boat.

After seeing Argel race by, I ran down to the dock. I grabbed the oar and pulled the boat in. Once in, Argel said, "Hey Montana wanted me to give you something"- and handed me this red box. I knew instantly two things, One it was from AM Feldman Jewelers and two, it was not a ring box.

I was ULTRA confused. I kept thinking, "It isn't our anniversary"- but was still trying to help Argel with the boat. It wasn't till I turned around that I saw him. Montana with his eyes fluttering

wearing an incredible grin, down on one knee with the ring box open.  I think I said either "Oh my God" or "For real" until he reminded me he was still on his knee and I needed to answer. I  managed YES and my knees buckled. As Montana said- he had me.

As soon as I was able to stand- we turned around and everyone was there. Family, friends and of course all the kids. I have never seen a group of people so happy- we got back to the tent and more friends and family and smiles- hugs- tears. There was nothing more special then these kids running up with big smiles and hugs telling me how happy they are to have a new "mom".

Within minutes the kids were on MySpace- Facebook and the word was out. We headed home and rested as we read through the pages and pages of amazing comments from so many people. Then it was off to dinner- where his mom--my new mom-to-be, gave a toast that couldn't have left a dry eye in the house. I am not sure that words can ever express what it has been like to not only find my prince but to have the world (all of our friends and family) supporting, loving and genuinely happy for us...

So as Montana said that night- here is to the beginning of an amazing love story.
