Year One Movie Premiere...

Although well deserved, the Hollywood spotlight hasn't shinned this bright on Chicago in a while. It's a very exciting week here from interviews to premieres and so much more. I had the rare chance to actually take the mic on the red carpet for the Year One premiere this week that was hosted at Matchbox Theater. Reporting for filmdaddy.com, I had the chance to interview not only the honoree of the night's festivities and this year's recipient of the Just for Laughs lifetime achievement award winner, Harold Ramis, but also a fantastic group of other hot celebrities. Harold is exactly how you would image: gracious and funny and he did share with us how the costume designs in this movie have impacted his style at home....

The highlight for me, and not just because of his role on my favorite show Dexter, had to be Matt Willig. Breaking out in his first movie, he was funny, witty and made this newbie to the red carpet very at ease. If he is listening, the sun did come out yesterday. The men behind the week long comedy program, Just for Laughs, were also in attendance on the carpet and were able to tell us a little bit about why they brought this Canadian-based festival to Chicago. From Bruce Hills' and Dennis Adamovich's own words, Chicago has a great history in Comedy and is a great city, so it was a perfect fit. We Chicagoans can only hope then that this is a sign that many more festivals and premieres to come to our lovely City.
