As I've said before, it's always a sign of a good play when a production is extended. Trust, Lookingglass’ newest show about sexual predators in a digital age, just announced an extension through May 9 due to high demand for tickets. Although I was wowed by the technical aspects – the show features live chat and a 20 foot MacBook sceen, among others – the drama onstage left me wanting more. However, audiences must have liked it, so perhaps they’re seeing something I'm not. I'll let you check it out and decide for yourself.
Insider Info: Schwimmer and team spent months researching the material, interviewing everyone from FBI agents, counselors of victims, and law enforcement officials to experts in the medical, legal and computer fields – and it shows. My guest, a man of few words, happens to also work closely with abuse victims, and commented at how true-to-life the events depicted were. Schwimmer just finished directing the feature film version of Trust, starring none other than Clive Owen and Catherine Keener – look for it in theaters sometime in 2011.
