Bookworms rejoice. This four-day book fair offers more than 100,000 used books sorted into more than 50 categories. There's something for everyone – from vampire romance to zoology. Books are very reasonably priced, with many under $2.00. All books are half-priced on Sunday, but you’ll want to get to the fair before then since the collection will be pretty picked over. Even if you don’t plan to refurbish your entire library, there's nothing better than swimming through decades' worth of great books.
Insider Info: According to the Newberry Library blog, some of the larger book donations came to the fair by way of some interesting stories. Thousands of romances were donated when a "donor" was out of town and her children decided to clean out her collection without telling her. We've come to learn she was fine with it. There was even a donation from a bookstore that never opened. To read more of these stories, visit the book fair blog; be sure to read the post on the interesting things they found as bookmarks in some of the donations.
