You know a band is going to be cool when they name it after a combination of a mass suicide and a Rolling Stones guitarist. In fact, this band is so cool that they have released sixteen albums over their twenty-year existence, and the fact that they still perform is simply wondrous. They have made album inspired by quite a few different musical styles including the UK Shoegaze sound, experimental, neo-psychedelic, folk rock, and even Nu-Gaze. With such a varied musical past, you can expect their most recent album release, "Who Killed Sgt. Pepper?" to be yet another smooth mix of psychedelic music.
Insider Info: Anton Newcombe is the only member of the band to stay through the entire existence of the band, and came up with the name for the band. His love for cult cultures like Charles Mansons' is well-known and has influenced (or even just named) the titles of songs and the content--like when they re-wrote a Charles Manson song.
