So who has the best mixology skills in the city? We'll soon find out with a mixology competition that starts this Wednesday and lasts until October. The first battle of the booze starts off at Perennial this Wednesday, where the public can nosh on complimentary appetizers, sample each mixologist's concoction, and help vote for their favorite drinks. This week features Boka mixologist, Dan de Olivera, versus Marc Yanga of The Gage. Audarshia Townsend of 312 Dining Diva will be the celebrity judge, and this fabulous lady knows her cocktails! The votes will be weighted 75 percent by the public vote and 25 percent by the guest judge.
Insider Info: Upcoming celebrity judges at future events include DJ Lin Brehmer, writer Ari Bendersky, Brian Duncan of Bin 36, and chefs Giuseppe Tentori, Curtis Duffy, Paul Virant, and Graham Elliot Bowles. The overall winner of the contest will receive a special prize package and will be named "Top Mixologist" and his or her cocktail will be available on Perennial's drink menu.
