We all love a bit of organized fighting, right? The surge of the crowd as one boxer takes another, the yelling that probably doesn’t do anything, and that sweaty, gym smell come together to create the irresistable atmosphere. If you don’t get in the gym enough, you can claim you did next month because of the Chicago Golden Gloves tournament. In the first nine rounds, boxers will fight for a place in the three championship rounds—the winner of which goes to the national competition. A previous winner of this competition was Michael Flatley, the famous Irish step dancer. Chicago has bred many great boxers through its youth programs, and Flatley and the competition owners believe in this cause.
