Printers Row Lit Fest

A Celebration of Books

Recommended by Claire Valley

After you've sated yourself at Ribfest in Ravenswood, head downtown to Printers Row in the South Loop. Every year Printers Row attracks more than 200 book sellers and 125,000 people over one June weekend. Attendees can peruse booths, listen to lectures and panel discussions, and meet authors. 2010 autors include Chicago Tribune staff, but also Elizabeth Berg, Libby Fischer Hellmann, Anne Lamott, Sarah Paretsky, Peter Yarrow, and many many more. This year, above and beyond the usual daytime festivities, Lit After Dark has been added Saturday night. Join fellow book lovers for poetry slams, wine tasting, live music, and libations.

Insider Info: All of the festivities are free, but if you attend any of the events at the Harold Washington Library you need to have tickets. For the most up to date schedule of events, check the Printers Row Facebook page.
