When I was in 6th grade, my elementary school decided they wanted to "promote children's literacy," thus having, a read-a-thon. I thought it was pretty cool then, because we got to stay up all night, and sleep in the same room as boys-- but if I'd known that on the same night, Second City would be having a similar, 24-hour party with comedians like Horatio Sanz and musicians like Steve Albini, and booze, and instead of winning books, I could win a private concert with Jeff Tweedy-- I would have been super bummed that I was reading all night in a gymnasium.
Insider Info: Not only is it a great line-up, but it's a great cause. $15 to see a 24-hour comedy extravagansa and help buy gifts for kids who don't have any this holiday season is something I can totally afford to do, and I dont have a significantly larger income than I did in 6th grade.
